I Can't Type Worth A Damn

...so I should sue my law school.

My own experience is that typing can be a great way to organize your notes during class room discussion (if you are handy with the computer). However, at my law school a fair amount of people choose to write in blue books for the actual exam (and it seems like they do all right).

Now if this guy's handwriting is just terrible... yes the professor might mark him down. In that way he is penalized for not typing his exam. But come now... on the day of the exam he became a poor typist? You would think that this guy could get a "Typing For Dummies" computer program or something.

A Hot New Blog On The Middle East

The sucker is scorching hot. My computer caught on fire when I bookmarked the blog.

I would think so but the ACLU disagrees in this story concerning a high school student in Rhode Island and his year book picture.

Abortion

First, the number of abortions is down since the early 1990s. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, in 1973, the year Roe v. Wade was decided, there were 615,831 abortions which translates to an abortion ratio of 196 abortions per 1,000 live births and an abortion rate of 14 per 1,000 women between the ages of 15 and 44.
The number of abortions peaked in 1990 at 1,429,247, yielding a ratio of 344 abortions per 1,000 live births and a rate of 24 per 1,000 women between the ages of 15 and 44. From that high, the number of abortions reported to the CDC had declined to 854,122 by 2002. (This number is artificially low, however. California, Alaska and New Hampshire stopped reporting their data to the CDC in 1998. In one year, the CDC estimated that women in California had 275,000 abortions, which would boost the U.S. total to more than 1 million.)

The Alan Guttmacher Institute compiles its own data from surveys of abortion providers. The institute's data indicate that there were about 800,000 abortions in 1973 and that the number doubled to around
1.6 million in 1990. Since then the number fell to just under 1.3 million in 2002. This implies that the CDC is missing data for about 450,000 abortions.

Anti U.S. Fund

Iran and Hugo Chavez have created a fund worth billions to challenge U.S. domination.

Chavez is always angry isn't he? Full of hate.

Hateful Hugo is great at calling attention to himself. He has mastered the strategy of attacking a country that is much bigger and better than his own.

I would be interested in knowing more about the politics of South America. Perhaps we can do a better job to find someone to challenge Hateful Hugo down south.

American Kids Don't Know American History

" MLK Jr. freed the slaves! Learning is the good!"

I have always said that it is extremely important to teach history and government in our schools. These two subjects will become vital resources of knowledge when the children grow up to be voting citizens in our great Republic.

Sadly I don't think that we are teaching kids much in public schools.

This article from the Washington Post confirms my fears.

AShiningCity's Plan For Iraq

"I give this plan a 'thumbs up' for quality."
President Bush has recently been very angry. People don't like his Iraqi plan.

The president responds, "If you don't like my Iraqi plan, tell me yours!"

Okay Mr. President... because you asked.... here we go.

Divide Iraq into 3 states. The two groups of Islam and the Kurds. The only reason why Iraq was combined from 3 separate groups was from the force of the British empire and the evil of Saddam. If we are not willing to use severe violence to put down rebellion then a one state government will not work.

Next our primary goal will be to guard the border between the Sunni State and the border with Iran. These two states will like each other but such an alliance can't take place.

The same goes with the Kurds. Turkey must understand that we do not support their Kurds forming an alliance with Iraqi Kurds. Yes, it is difficult but at least the Kurds in Iraq have a sense of purpose.

The oil must be divided in 3 ways.

Okay, that is my plan. Yes, there is still a need for the United States but now we are protecting borders of the 3 states... not fighting a civil war. My plan should be a lot easier for the American military to undertake.

The Greatness Of The South

Over the Christmas season a friend of mine remarked, "I like Southern culture... except for all the racism."

Needless to say I was a little angry. The remark came from a pretty liberal man and I guess he felt great feeling superior over an entire part of the country.

Liberals ignore the southern states at their own risk!

What I Want For The New Year

Yes, I did have a wonderful Christmas but I do want a few more gifts.

Here are the issues that I want the President elected in 2008 to care about:

1.) The spread of Radical Islam:
Notice I did not say "terrorism." Radical Islam is the disease and terrorism is just a symptom of that particular disease. Check out what the Radicals are doing now in Europe. Within a generation Radical Islam could take over Europe... the United States can not stand by when this occurs. (Here is a great book that I am reading now on the topic and a review of the book)

2.) Decrease In Government And In Spending:
President Bush screwed the Republican party on this issue. Now candidates running for President don't seem to care that their plans offer just more spending... it has become the status quo. A fresh new voice on a traditional Republican idea is needed in this area.

3.) Conservative Judges:
With Justice Stevens most likely leaving in the next few years we need a president who understands the importance of the Supreme Court and acts to push conservative Pro-Life judges into any vacancies.

4.) Border Security:
Here is another area that President Bush failed the Republican Party and the nation as a whole. We need a president who recognizes that a strong border fence and defense is needed before we even start talking about what to do with all the illegals in this country.

5.) Better Relations With India:
For years the United States has been providing support for Pakistan...a decision that made more sense during the Cold War compared to now. Our next president must understand that India needs to be the United States' great ally in the 21st century. Here's why:
  • India Is A Diverse And Active Democracy
  • India Understands The Dangers Of Radical Islam
  • India Can Stand Up Against An Expanding Communist China
  • India Prides Itself On Educating Scientists And Engineers

Ha, so I ask for a lot...
