Iran Replaces "Foreign Words" With Persian Words

Check out the Foxnews article here.

From the article:

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has ordered government and cultural bodies to use modified Persian words to replace foreign words that have crept into the language, such as "pizzas" which will now be known as "elastic loaves," state media reported Saturday.

One of the reasons why I am so proud of the English langauge is its willingness to accept new words from around the world. We aren't afraid to be "corrupted" by new thoughts and ideas.

Well, I am getting hungry. I am off to cook myself an elastic loaf.
