A DailyKos Comment On The Airlines Terror Plot

We know that Al Qaeda wants the GOP to stay in power (the CIA has thought this at least since the infamous bin Laden tape released just before the 2004 election.)
So there's really no need for BushCo to simply imagine an increased risk. Al Qaeda is happy to increase the risk for them. It's a lot easier than actually pulling off a terror plot. And it probably has even higher long term returns for them.
So the threat is real, but the timing is not accidental.
