The Origins Of Blackacre And Greenacre

While sitting through Property class last semester I wondered, as I looked down at the problems in the textbook, "Why is every damn piece of land called 'Blackacre'?"

Sometimes the text's authors would switch it up a tad... substituting different colors.

Still, that question bothered me greatly and thus damaged my concentration (at least that's my excuse).

Finally... I found the answer.
