The Crazy Spending Continues
Bush: "Okay so it is still a huge deficit but come on guys vetoing a spending bill is really, really hard!"
So Bush has been giving himself mad props today for having only a $296 billion deficit as opposed to what was being estimated last year as a $423 billion deficit.
But get this.. Bush created the first estimate $423 billion!
What Bush is trying to pull is like Lil' Johnny saying to his father in the middle of the term, "I think I should be getting a F in Science. I am not too keen for Science"
Then Lil' Johnny gets a D.
It doubtful that his father would give a damn that Lil' Johnny was predicting a F and instead did marginally better.
Lil' Johnny would still get the taste of the belt.
But wait there is more! According to the article:
However, the results are less impressive when compared to the $318 billion deficit posted last fall for fiscal 2005. Despite strong revenues, the high costs of the Iraq war and Gulf Coast hurricane relief have weighed on the deficit-as have higher interest payments paid on the national debt.
Okay so President Bush really saved only $22 billion.
Talk about the soft bigotry of low expectations.
Check out this picture folks:
Yeah, that is President Bush with your money. Look at his evil grin. Look at his expensive shirt from the GAP. Look at the kickass tan he got from all the days in Texas chilling in his money pool.
Damn, Mr. President should call me the big yellow bus because I just took him to school on his spending habits.
